The Southeast Asian Film Financing Forum (“SAFF”) is an annual summit that brings together the best feature film concepts from Asia and Europe, to meet with international co-producing partners, festival programmers, distributors, commissioners, and financiers.
Held during the Singapore Media Festival, the SAFF is a collaborative effort with ScreenSingapore, and links organically with the Asia TV Forum, the Asia TV Awards and the Singapore International Film Festival.
The SAFF features:
- Ties That Bind, a leading international co-production program that assists European and Asian producers through group work and mentorship by some of the world’s foremost experts. Each year, only 10 of the best projects from Asia and Europe are selected for 2 workshop sessions, in Udine Italy, and Singapore.
- The SAFF Project Market, that showcases the 10 film projects from Ties That Bind, and 15 projects garnered from the best of experienced and aspiring filmmakers across Southeast Asia. The market facilitates interactions between the filmmakers and potential collaborators, investors and distributors who can help bring the projects to fruition.
- The SAFF Film Financing Conference, a full-day event that uncovers the secrets to how producers can successfully raise investments, tap on grants, attract sponsorships, and assemble the various forms of financing to get their films made.
The SAFF is jointly organized by SAAVA and Reed Exhibitions, the organizer of the annual Asia TV Forum and Screen Singapore. SAFF is an exciting platform that fills a market gap in the regional media industry, and a bold initiative to grow the standards of filmmaking in Southeast Asia.
