SAFF 2015

The Southeast Asian Film Financing Forum successfully concluded on 4 December 2015. The event saw fruitful exchanges and business discussions between filmmakers and decision makers from across international markets.

Accolades

“I have found the SAFF to be most relevant and beneficial. This forum enabled me to engage and connect with financiers, producers and festivals from around the region and beyond. This exposure to external funding and access to regional and global market is precisely what Singapore producers need at this stage of our development, namely internationalization. I believe SAFF is going to play a critical role in the internationalization efforts of Singapore’s media industry.”
– William Lim, Executive Producer, XTREME Media, one of Singapore’s leading production companies. Selected participant for the SAFF Project Market
“Knowing Singapore’s business expertise as an Asian hub, I expected SAAVA / TTB workshops to gather a diverse panel of talents from all over Asia. My hopes were fulfilled far beyond my expectations. I was thoroughly impressed by the taste in the participant selection and by the ambition of most participants (I mean good ambition!). Furthermore being able to end the workshop by providing access to the participants during the SAFF Project Market is a great way for everyone to directly enforce what they work on during the workshop – and for us consultants to expand our business opportunities! I regret I could not stay longer to make the most of the conferences. I would no doubt be very happy to return and recommend the TTB, SAAVA, SAFF initiatives to my industry colleagues!”
– Jean Baptiste Babin, Founding Partner, Backup Media, a leading European film financing and distribution companies
“The SAFF project Market and Conference was very professionally organised by the very courteous SAAVA team and was a great networking event to present our projects to the Southeast Asian region and beyond. As a producer, through the SAFF project Market, we also had the chance to get to know about some great projects in development in the region, some of which we are considering to be involved in. The conference was of very high international standard, insightful and informative with some great contributions from key speakers, moderators and participants. I will definitely come back!”
– Christian Comarmond, Founder, Capital Media, one of Mauritius’ leading film and TV companies
“THANK YOU to all the members of SAAVA for creating a project market to support regional films and selecting my project for SAFF! I can’t believe I received prizes to make my new film, “The Long Walk” a reality! Thank you so much to your ultra dedicated team: Justin Deimen, Michael, Tiffany, Karen, Gin Kai, the whole team and sponsors that created this opportunity for all of us!!!! Congratulations to you guys for hosting and creating this awesome event! You and the team seriously are battle fronting Southeast Asia singlehandedly!”
– Mattie Do, Founder, Lao Art Media. Selected participant for the SAFF Project Market

“The first edition of Ties That Bind in Singapore has proved to be very successful and this is for sure only thanks to the great cooperation that we established over the last year with SAAVA. The possibility to have the workshop as part of the SAFF project market and conference offered to all participants the unique opportunity to both meet important decision makers and at the same time to explore the real financing sources in the region. Singapore has a real potential to become the main hub in the South East Asian film industry and the synergy between TTB and SAFF can aim to bring together the most promising projects and talented filmmakers from the region together with key players and financiers from all over the world. We look forward to start planning the second edition of TTB with one precise goal: connecting even more the European and Asian film industries.”
– Alessandro Gropplero, International Relations, Fondo Audiovisivo FVG, Film Fund and organizer of Ties That Bind
